Land Rover Discovery 4 Door Lock Problem

Remove the 2 torx screws that hold the dust cover on top and bottom i could lift up the cover and see that the nylon bush that holds.

Be careful removing the door card as there is wiring and the door lock cable attached to the door card. While i liked the idea of a british marque the decision was my mistake as i didn t do enough research. Last time it did it i gently hit the door skin in the area of the lock mechanism from the outside of the vehicle with the flat of my hand and it opened and has continued to work normally so far. Start from the bottom.

Remove 7 screws from the door car 1 from behind the door lock handle 4 from the grab handle 2 from the bottom of the door. I took it yo my mechanic who new what it was without looking at it. Ocassonally my passenger side rear door acts as if the childlock is engaged but won t even open from the outside either. I had this exact problem a while back.

From memory it was something to do with the door latching mechanism on its way out so sometimes when you lock the car it won t lock because the door latch appears to be open.
