After making the marks that show where the door jamb is located take measurements from the edge of the installed floor.
If your flooring runs parallel with the door you ll likely have only one piece of laminate to trim.
Make sure you take accurate measurements and leave 1 3 around the walls or in the transitions to other flooring.
Look at the underside of the door bar you ll be able to tell where the floor needs to stop in order for the to fit over it.
Also measure from the wall in between the door jambs.
In this case you can see that it is 2 inches.
Measure about 1 2 inch under the outside of each door jamb.

Hold the laminate steady as you cut.
Starting on one side or the other is easier then starting in the middle.
Measure on the inner jamb as well as both sides of the door where the trim is located.

Using a framing square measure the depth of your door jamb by sliding the square under the newly cut gap until the tool hits the door frame or stud.
Lay the small piece of laminate with the pad under it up against the door jamb lay the saw flat on the laminate using it as a guide.
Next you have to cut the groove of the laminate board you are going to lay under the door jambs by using a sharp utility knife.
If there s a gap under your door casing and also a gap between two rooms under a door where two different installations of laminate flooring join you can install t molding to hide both gaps.
